The second largest industrial subcontracting trade fair in Europe, and the largest industrial trade fair in Finland, Alihankinta and AlihankintaHEAT will be organized at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on 27–29th September 2022. The theme of the event will be Industry Appeal, Needs and Experts. The exhibition stands for this autumn's Alihankinta Subcontracting Trade Fair have been sold out, which means that approximately 1,000 exhibitors will attend this international event covering all exhibition halls of the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre. The Subcontracting Trade Fair 2022 partner for Alihankinta is Wärtsilä Finland Oy.
After two years of exceptional circumstances, everyone is looking forward to Alihankinta and AlihankintaHEAT 2022 with special enthusiasm. The event will be tightly structured around current themes, meaningful encounters and latest solutions.
– This autumn looks bright, and we are looking forward to having the fair. Pandemic times may have changed many practices, but people's need for face-to-face encounters has not stopped. This is why so many still attend trade fairs and other events; just look at Alihankinta that has been sold out. In addition to pre-booked appointments, live events enable random encounters and unexpected collaboration opportunities. This is not possible via Teams, for example. Of course, being together is an important value in and of itself. Our goal is to make this autumn's Alihankinta and AlihankintaHEAT event a place for meaningful encounters and a three-day industrial festival, where the famous positive subcontracting spirit of Tampere is ever-present, says Tanja Järvensivu, PR and Partnership Director of Tampere Trade Fairs Group and Project Manager for Alihankinta.
Industry Appeal, Needs and Experts as event theme – Wärtsilä Finland Oy as the Subcontracting Trade Fair partner
The theme of Alihankinta and AlihankintaHEAT 2022 will be Industry Appeal, Needs and Experts. The theme will showcase the current and future needs and prospects of industry on a broad scale. Debate-arousing perspectives include the appeal of industry and how to attract skilled workers, the importance of a new kind of cooperation, and challenges and changes arising from the volatile global situation.
On Tuesday 27th Sept, the programme will focus on the theme "Industry Appeal, Needs and Experts". The first day's programme includes the awarding of Subcontractor of the Year and Main Supplier of the Year by Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY. On Wednesday 28th Sept, the programme is titled "Industry Future and Current Challenges", discussing e.g., the effects of the Ukraine crisis, industrial supply shortages, cybersecurity and preparedness, and future changes in industry. Thursday 29th Sept will be "Shapers of the Future Thursday", with a content that highlights the appeal of industry, relevant topics for youth and students, and the importance of collaboration between schools, universities and companies.
The Subcontracting Trade Fair 2022 partner for Alihankinta 2022 will be Wärtsilä Finland Oy. Wärtsilä is a leading international supplier of innovative technologies and life cycle solutions in the marine and energy markets. In 2021, Wärtsilä's turnover was over EUR 4.8 billion.
Wärtsilä's Vesa Riihimäki, Ensto's Marjo Miettinen and Engineering Academy's Peer Haataja as theme partners
As in previous years, Alihankinta has assigned three esteemed industry experts as theme partners. The theme partner from Wärtsilä, the main partner of the fair, is Vesa Riihimäki, President in charge of production, power plants and procurement, who also leads the Sustainable Technology Hub project. The second theme partner is Chairman of the Board at Ensto, Marjo Miettinen. The third theme partner is Peer Haataja, CEO of Tampereen Teollisuusoppilaitos Oy and head of the new Engineering Academy.
Subcontracting Trade Fair Alihankinta presents the metal, electronics, plastics and rubber industries, industrial ICT solutions, as well as design and consulting within these fields. During normal years, the event has attracted over a thousand exhibitors from twenty countries and about 18,000 trade fair visitors. The fair is organized by Tampere Trade Fairs Group in collaboration with Technology Industries of Finland, Rubber Manufacturers' Association of Finland RMAF, Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY, and Finnish Plastics Industries Federation FIPIF. The fair has taken place in Tampere since 1988.

After a long wait, Finland’s leading industrial fair will be held on 21.-23. September 2021 at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre. In three days, the Subcontracting Trade Fair and AlihankintaHEAT will offer visitors a unique overview of the industry’s prospects and the future of the industry, with more than 900 exhibitors. The theme of the trade fair to be held safety first is Business from Data.
The Asta fair for construction and housing held at the beginning of September successfully opened the Tampere Trade Fairs group after a long pandemic break. The group’s largest trade fair event is currently being built at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre health safety first.
- Subcontracting Trade Fair has brought together industry companies and experts in good and more challenging times for 33 years. Hopefully, the pioneer role as a courageous leader will also work now that society needs to be opened up safely to events as well. There are more than 900 exhibitors involved, so the industrial crowd is really seen under the same roof at the end of a long wait. After the past virtual year, it is clear that there is a strong need for industry players to meet their customers and partners face to face. Hopefully, event visitors will also be allowed to go to the fair to do business, and companies’ teleworking and travel instructions would not become an obstacle. Fortunately, restrictions are finally being eased, so there is still hope to get the professionals on the go. We definitely emphasize health safety and the most important guideline is to come to the fair in good health, says the event’s Project Manager, Marketing and Communications Director Tanja Järvensivu of Tampere Trade Fairs.

Starting today, Finland leads the international conversation on the development of the ground rules for a human-centered data economy. The programme of Finland's EU Presidency published last Wednesday reads: "More work is needed to achieve a competitive, human-driven data economy by promoting the availability, interoperability and use of data, while also respecting the rights and privacy of individuals. Progress in this area is crucial, since the data economy provides the basis for developing digital services, digital business and new technologies, such as artificial intelligence.”
The Finnish view is that Europe’s data economy should pursue two goals in a complementary manner:
The discussion on fair data economy will happen around two events organised in Helsinki during the second half of 2019. One of them is a global MyData 2019 conference held on 25-27 September 2019, organized by MyData Global - an international non-profit headquartered in Helsinki. The conference is open to decision-makers, business, academia and activists working for human-centric approach to personal data. It is an official associated event of Finland’s EU Presidency. The discussion outcomes of MyData 2019 will feed into the invitation-only high-level conference on data economy organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications on 24-25 November 2019.
“The aim of MyData is to harness the power of personal data in ways that benefit individuals, fuel innovative business, and help create a more equal society.” explains Teemu Ropponen, General Manager of MyData Global. “This is why it is a crucial element of fair data economy - because it protects the individuals’ rights to data about them, while boosting the creation of new digital services based on trust and data sharing.”
Born in Finland and promoted by a group of enthusiasts, MyData made it through to the country’s new Government Programme, published in June. It is expected that in 2019, MyData conference, organized for the 4th time, will trigger discussions on how to build more transparent, trustworthy and sustainable societies. A year after the introduction of the GDPR, these discussions are more relevant than ever.
“Data economy is one of the key priorities for the Finnish EU Presidency, and MyData is one of the issues the new government wants to work on, according to the recently published Governmental Programme. The MyData 2019 conference will contribute greatly to the conversation we have on the fair data economy and use of personal data here in Finland and in the EU”, outlines Maria Rautavirta, Director of Data Business Unit at the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland.
The topic of the conference is “Rebuilding trust – for human-centered data economy”. Some 1,000 policymakers, representatives of businesses and start-ups, researchers, activists and nonprofits will gather to work together towards more equitable ways to use and share data.
“Based on our research, 42% of Europeans say that a lack of trust towards service providers is preventing them from using some digital services. We need to act fast to regain that trust. MyData in tandem with Sitra’s project IHAN are proof that the change for the better has already started,” says Jaana Sinipuro, Project Director, Human-Driven Data Economy, at The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, the Main Partner of the MyData 2019 conference.
MyData 2019 conference will feature over 100 speakers, presenting on 40+ sessions in 10 thematic track. The confirmed keynote speakers include Grammy award-winning musician Imogen Heap and Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, Alexander Stubb. Conversations will be boosted in the extended events organised by the European Commission, BBC, UNICEF, IEEE and the City of Helsinki.

For immediately release:
Friday, March 17, 2017 is the 10th annual World Sleep Day, an internationally recognized awareness event about the importance of sleep.
SAM Sleep trainer by ZAZU helps many children and parents sleep better!
Imagine that instead of being woken in the wee morning hours by your early rising toddler, you can "sneak" in some extra shut eye while your toddler waits for the signal that its OK to get out of bed. Well "dream" no more!
Recent studies among families from UK, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Australia, have shown that SAM the Sleep Trainer by ZAZU improved their sleep by an average of 45 minute per day.
Sam the Sleep Trainer is a simple and effective method that children easily relate to, and even works for children who cannot yet tell time on their own. Using easy and fun visual cues, SAM the Sleep Trainer by ZAZU indicates when its OK to get out of bed in the morning and when to go back to sleep
Eyes closed means back to bed. Eyes open means OK to get up.
Research showed that it took only 3 days on average for children (age 2-7) to understand the full concept of the SAM the sleeptrainer. In the 2 weeks-test period, 100% of the parents enjoyed more sleep, and on average woke up at their preferred time 5 out of 7 days of the week.
World Sleep Day raises awareness about the benefits of sleep which is crucial for proper growth and development of children and vital for their parents too. At ZAZU, we are proud that SAM the Sleep Trainer helps in that vital role.
ZAZU is a Dutch company designing product to help children to get better sleep. A little bit of extra sleep, is already more fun for the whole family
